Shoraka to aid Yayasan Hijrah Selangor’s Islamic finance migration with fintech solutions

A Malaysian foundation providing microloans to micro and small entrepreneurs in the state of Selangor has engaged the services of an Islamic fintech start-up to facilitate its migration into the Shariah finance space.

Yayasan Hijrah Selangor has partnered with Shoraka Global Resources, part of Shoraka Digital Ventures, which would allow potential financing recipients, particularly unbankable B40 (bottom 40% income) individuals, access Shariah compliant solutions.

Shoraka Digital Ventures is a provider of Islamic fintech solutions, owning several Shariah compliant financial platforms. Yayasan Hijrah Selangor is a Selangor state government initiative to support entrepreneurs: since 2015, the foundation has disbursed RM139 million (US$33.19 million)-worth of microloans.
