Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has signed an MoU with Halal Development Corporation (HDC) to encourage the development of Halal digital technology, such as the Halal Assurance System and Halal Traceability, and to increase digital adoption levels among entrepreneurs and SMEs.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Islamic Digital Economy Industry Conference 2023, held on the 22nd August 2023, which was hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Digital through MDEC. According to the ministry, the Islamic digital economy is projected to reach a global value of US$7.7 trillion by 2025.
