Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has launched its first application programming interface (API) developer portal, enabling fintech developers to use the bank’s APIs to develop their own applications, in a bid to drive open banking in the UAE.
Complying with the UK’s Open Banking Standard, ADIB’s API portal will provide a range of data to access, use and share by third-party providers such payment initiators, account aggregators and other fintech providers to build new products which will interact seamlessly with the bank’s platforms. This would then allow ADIB customers access to new secure apps and digital services, including the ability to view accounts held with other providers through the ADIB mobile banking app.
