Pakistan’s Salam Takaful has engaged Dublin-based insurtech firm Blink Parametric to integrate the latter’s parametric solution across its travel insurance policies.
The solution enables Blink Parametric to monitor any flight delay in real-time. The system will automatically notify registered travelers of any flight disruptions and offer assistance within their Takaful policy scope. The partnership represents Blink Parametric’s first foray into the Pakistani market.
“This real-time flight delay cover will become standard across al of our travel policies and will be accessible on our travel insurance portal to travel agents and banking partners across Pakistan,” shared Rizwan Hussain, the managing director and CEO of Salaam Takaful.
This collaboration is part of a string of initiatives by Salaam Takaful to position itself as a digital Islamic insurer.
In August, the operator launched Salaam App, a healthcare app enabling policyholders to track their health, access information about nearby pharmacies and hospitals as well as avail discounts. The app also features the Salaam Virtual Clinic, allowing users to obtain medical consultation with certified physicians through audio and video calls.
